Let's Celebrate the Softball Program's First College World Series Appearance - 1998!
1998 was, up until that point, the most successful season for SSU Softball. They advanced to the NCAA Division III College World Series after winning its second consecutive Capital Athletic Conference Championship. The sea gulls finished the `98 season with a school-record 36 wins and ranked fourth in the final NFCA poll. Coach Margie Knight finished her second season as head coach with a 69-24 record.
Saturday, April 5, 2025 - Margie Knight Sea Gull Softball Stadium
- 9:30 a.m. - Gather in the concourse of the stadium for a light breakfast provided by M&GC Sponsor, Bagel Bakery
- 10:50 a.m. - Recognize the 1998 team on the field and first pitch
- 11 a.m. - First game of double header, Seagulls host John Jay
- 1 p.m. - Second game of double header, Seagulls host John Jay
- 3-6 p.m. - Post-game gathering at Adam's Taphouse
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required no later than Thursday, April 3 for planning purposes.
